It was far better than starting a war between them and the alien life on the planet by blowing the base up. Ashla looked around before heading off to the bunks. Once she arrive she went to where the other's Ashla's bunk and started sorting though her things. Until she found her data pad and went to her own bunk. Making copy of a recording she had of Duncan's flute playing. She figure it be nice to play next time when she and Jaden was in meditation.
On the Liberty's Hope, during the journey journey to drop off the Refugees.

Date: 2921 AOK

Duncan had decided to fly with the refugees on the Acclamator-class ship that they had been given by Trysta. He didn't think the ship's previous name matched the mission he was thinking of using it for, as such he had been calling it the Liberty's Hope. He also didn't feel right leaving all these refugees alone on board with the B-1s. This way they'd at least have a living being to talk to if needed. Ironically most of the trip seemed to be quiet, in fact it was quiet enough that he was able to use the time to practice the lessons he had been learning about manipulating Cosmic Force. But for every centimeter he felt he had taken forward it seemed as if he took a full meter backwards. And trying ti manipulate it always left his physically and emotionally drained. It reminded him of his first days at the temple when he was first learning to manipulate the Force. But he didn't let the difficulties of the task bother him then, he wasn't going to let it bother him now. So as Master Dooku had told him so many years ago.... practice, practice, practice.

(The following post is a collaborative of GM Mike and Ni)

Ni was stirred from her sleep by sounds that seemed to be coming from the bathing berth. She rolled over and checked the time on her data pad, discovering that it was much too early in the morning for anyone to be waking for meditation. Then she glanced across the room and noticed that Zay was not in her bed.Â

The Zeltron immediately felt a sinking, uncertain feeling. Her exhaustion was quickly replaced by worry as she rolled from her bunk and slowly made her way to the bathing berth. She found the door closed with a slit of light peeking out under it. Strange noises emanated from within, not the noises of someone washing. Ni knocked and said tentatively, "Uh...hello? Are you in there, Zay?"Â

Then Ni realized, as she tried the door, that it was not locked. "Hey, Im coming in...?" she called out at the door, waiting a moment for any word of objection before entering the bathroom.Â

She saw Zay frantically cleaning the floor. Much of the berth already appeared cleaner than it ever had been. Zay glanced up with tears in her eyes, “He will be home soon!” she said then turned back to scrubbing the floor with a large brush. Her clothes were torn from the all-night cleaning. She repeated as she scrubbed, “he will be home soon and this place has to be clean."

Ni could only stare in shock for a moment as she beheld the bizarre scene. A mixture of pity, anger, and despair flooded her senses. She dropped down in front of Zay and gently took the scrub brush from her friend's hands, telling her with restrained ferocity, "Damn him, Zay! And Damn his demands." She threw the brush away, causing it to sail out of the bathroom and ricochet loudly down the corridor.

Ni gathered Zay's hands into her own. "He can't touch you, Zay," she said fervently, staring into her friend's eyes intently, "He wouldn't dare. I'd drop him faster than he could raise a finger."

Ni stared pensively from one of the windows of The Castaway's Hope. She frowned and released a sigh as she watched Gadeon depart for the temple. Returning to Corruscant was awful enough without also coming to terms with this unpleasant, anxiety-ridden occasion; her closest friend was making himself a target, and in more ways than one. The Zeltron urged her mind away from this depressing thought and tried to center on happier subjects. Instead, the disturbing face of a man suddenly manifested inside her mind. Merrick. She shivered and turned her back to the window, now concentrating on the floor.Â

Ni remembered the day they left Corruscant--she wanted to force a confession from Merrick, but Gadeon advised against it. He told her to let the authorities handle it. Well, she gave the authorities the information before they left, and Merrick was still in power when they returned. She mused irritably that the nasty man had probably already customized a new clone for himself to break and use by now. Her hands tightened into fists.Â

Ni strode out into the corridor of the ship with a fierce purpose blazing in her eyes. She donned a simple white dress and sandals, plus a matching white purse with some gadgets packed inside, including a recorder. Her expression shifted to a joyful, carefree facade when she found Zay. She cheerfully asked the clone to help Bay with his work and stay by his side while she went shopping. Then she hailed a speeder to the Senate building. Her stomach turned into knots as she witnessed this grandiose building once more, remembering the dullest two weeks of her life. As she navigated through the halls towards Merrick's Senatorial office she attempted to calm her racing emotions and wear her usual cheerful mask once again.

'You wanted it,' Ni chanted to herself, 'You always, always want it.' Ni understood that if she dared allow her feelings to control her in this moment, if she didn't think clearly about what she had to do, then she may never have a chance in granting justice for Zay or Zera, let alone the satisfaction of watching an evil man fall.Â

The Zeltron beamed down at Merrick's secretary. "I'm here to see Tal Merrick, Miss. He is expecting me."

(This occurs right after the first Zay thread)
Despite just having breakfast, Ni knew that it was almost time for bed. She would lead Zay to the bathroom to give her her own toothbrush and toothpaste to brush with. Then she would guide Zay to the bunks and ask her which bed she would prefer. After tucking her into bed, she would take out her datapad, sit on the bunkroom floor, and begin typing up the rules.

A look of intense concentration wrinkled up Ni's face as she worked. She knew that she would need to set up some boundaries to keep things from getting out of hand. Plus, Zay needed a sense of structure and expectations in order to feel at ease. But even as she typed she grumbled in her mind that she was hardly qualified to be in charge of making rules. She was better suited for finding loopholes and breaking them.
The list read as follows:

[This takes place shortly after the ships depart Corsuscant. ]
Cox checks the controls as the ship begins to follow the course he plotted. He sends a message to Unna's datapad, "Please join me in the cockpit. Just doing the final checks." Everything looks good and Cox settles into the cockpit chair. Flying in open space was always relaxing and his guard began to fall. Slowly, the events on Coruscant began to replay in his head.

He was going to be a father. It was a surprisingly happy thought. Raising a child would give him a greater purpose than fixing ships so they can blast each other to pieces again. And the baby's mother was something else.

But the mother didn't love him. Or did she? She said she did, but in front of the chancellor she implied she didn't. Yet she put her life on the line to protect him from those droids. She probably loved him or at least that's what he'd hope.

The chancellor spoke of his future as if he were an object that she could do as she pleases with. Replace him with a duke or frame him for rape or make him disappear were some of the options mentioned. He never thought he'd meet someone who could scare him more than his father, but the Chancellor's pleasantness when discussing his fate paralyzed him with fear. Cox no longer doubted that the Chancellor was at least capable of all the things her enemies said.

Then he recalled the direness of Unna's telepathic voice and how he rushed to her aid. He had worked on several combat ships and had experienced the adrenaline rush that came with an attack. This response was wholly different. His only thought was getting to her side as quickly as possible. He loved Unna, but perhaps his love was stronger than even he realized.

He saw her laying prostrate with Orchid about to behead her. His body went cold with the realization he could do nothing to stop it. Then a jedi interceded and Orchid escaped. He rushed to her side and tried to treat her wounds. Orchid returned to finish the job and knocked Cox out before he could do anything other than flail at the air behind her.

When he came to, his first words were, "Is Unna ok?" Somehow she survived and he was elated. He spent the next 2 weeks at her side; only leaving if he had to. His thoughts focused solely on her and their baby's health and their future.

Cox sends a message to Unna, "Hello Unna. When you have some time, I'd like to talk about our futures - yours, mine, and our baby's."

(This occurs after visiting Davin on the way to Avalon)
Bay sat in the cockpit of the 'Castaway's Hope', a data pad lay on his lap as he jotted down some numbers and smiled. He closed the file depicting fuel costs and credits earned and looked up at the swirling blue of hyperspace. He spotted Cox's ship ahead with the two smaller fighters the jedi had brought along. They were a formidable force for any loot hungry pirates.

Bay leaned back and placed his hands behind his back and sighed with relief. Having these people around had almost made the debacle at Coruscant bearable. Assassins, rapists, slaves, and politicians was all that he had experienced from the 'heart of civilization' and he was very glad they were behind them.

He felt bad for the clones, almost guilty, but the universe wasn't a fair place and sometimes you got dealt a bad hand. He wasn't going to waste time worrying about everyone else when he had to worry about himself or the people he cared about. Once he had a safe harbor, a huge cache of credits, and a private droid army, then he'd consider it.

And he now felt he was making his way towards that very goal. He had a ship, a handful of droids, a group of powerful force users to protect him, and some legitimate seed money. The only thing that bothered him was about what came next. How long until he was being shot or threaten at again?

He reached over to a button and opened the door to the cockpit. Maybe he could pick the brain of someone who passed by.
