RE: Act One, Scene Two
Projects....Projects..Projects. He just loved having stuff running. His only issue, is that he gets caught up in so many projects that he often gets lost in one and forgets the others. Good thing he made it to some sort of Command. Having others working for to help ensure your projects are successful means...MORE PROJECTS!
However, his current project was put aside as a call came in, its Commander V'rol. He is sending information about the recent intrution upon the Thunderchild. A few hours went by as Increase listened and watched everything get covered by all the Commanding officers. He liked what he was seeing in them all. He studied each of them, each time he played the recording he would watch and study a new person. Mental notes of each were taken for later usage when dealing directly with them...as he was about the play the recording for the last time to actually study the events of what happened...a new cadet on his time comes bursting in the door...
"SIR...SIR! We have a problem..." Increase slowly rose his hand in the direction of the Cadet. A simple index finger was enough to tell the story of...'Hold on'...the Cadet continued "...But Sir...Lab 4 is..." His eyes, and only his eyes quickly darted over towards the cadet. No emotions on his face as he took a moment to study the Cadet. A slow flexing of the nose in breath could be seen. The Cadet froze...still new to his staff. "Cadet Os'well...correct?" The Cadet nodded in returned, a little surprised that Increase knew his name already. His hand lowered and full attention turned to the Cadet...his voice followed, calm and collected "What is so important that you have to take me away from my responsibilities? Oh let me guess...Lad 4 is on fire...again?" The Cadet looked a little surprised. "What you will learn, my young Cadent, is that science is progress...and progress comes with a little destruction. Now be gone from my sight, so I can return to not being bothered. Thank you and have a good day Cadet." Without a seconded thought or look back, his attention once more returned to the monitor of the briefing. The Cadet both amazed and confused made his way quickly out of the room.
Increase then leaned back in his chair, gripping his now cool coffee. He raised it to his lips, where he noticed the cool coffee...and there he just stared at it for a long period of time. Mentally going over the details over the briefing, but yet to have finished the briefing. A soft huff lead to him slowly standing and walking over to the replicator to have it 'warmed'..."Computer, continue play back"...a beeping sounded acknowledge the request and the briefing continued. As he got to the replicator it was the voice of the Klingon that drew his attention. There was a name mentioned that caused him to pause. How was 'He' tied up in all this. The cool mug of coffee as set on the replicator "Computer, pause playback." He again, stared at the mug for a long time...his thoughts mulling over everything up to this point.
He turned to look back at the briefing recording...the man's image plaster there next to the image that the Klingon found of the woman who is presumed to be the woman they think is hiding here. If she is as smart as she is, then a lot of things she learned to confuse the senors and other stuff could have been learned threw him. A faint smile of memories came then, as he thought about how gullible the man was in his early years. In that smile he voiced
"Computer...Send a subspace message to Doctor Julian Bashir, Chef Medical office of Deep Space Nine. Encrypt the message using the normal methods when I send messages to Julian." Julian, he knows Doctor Bashir and is out rightly using his name as if they were close friends. Thats because they are very close friends. He looked around slowly, eyeing every little thing in his room...even if he had brought in the items himself...as if casting scrutiny upon everything, for it could be a potential listening device...or as it seems, there could be some sort of low tech in his room. Before speaking further he returns to his console and begins to type out his message to Julian ((Which will be sent to Akira's Inbox))
It didn't take long to get the message together...once that was done you commanded the computer to play the recording again so could study all the findings once more. There is nothing he can do on this limited Star Base with such a small crew. He would need to get aboard the Thunderchild and get that science working. Just because the computer doesn't have the ability to find out what is going on...Increase is sure he can figure it out.
