"What do you make of it," Master Maes said with curiosity in her voice. Master Maes stood next to the Captain's chair with Astra and Sol behind her. The entire bridge crew were transfixed on the floating ship just ahead of them. The emergency beacon still broadcasting.

"It is a Light Cruiser, from the Serona Family," the Captain said softly. He turned to one of his officers, "anything?"

The man turned back, "no Sir. Just the automated distress call. Repeating location. That is it. Nothing else."

The Captain nodded with confusion on his face, "no power, and no evidence of damage or...." he trailed off as if trying to remember something. After a moment he shook his head. He righted himself, "well Galactic Law demands that we try to help." He rose from his chair, "that's a big ship," he said turning to Master Maes. "Can you lend us some of your students to help search for survivors."

She nodded, "in service of those in need, of course." She turned to Sol. "You and Astra go to the lounge and gather up the children. Organize them in to two person search parties." She turned to the Captain while holding up her hand keeping Sol in place. "Is that good," she asked.

He nodded, "I will assign a crewmember to each team."

She nodded, "Go Sol. Let them know that there could be wounded people."

Sol nodded, "yes ma'am.

Astra blinked staring at the ship transfixed " we have to do sumthing" He thought. As the adults and the brig spoke. She started playing with a strand of hair. She need to to move do sumthing. Thankfully master Maes turned and instructed them to go organize the other students into teams.

Astra did not waght she was off to start organizing the other students. The final argument was 6 teams with Sol and Astra as a team.

Sol led the six teams, with Astra by his side. The two ships were joined at the airlock. Six members of the crew were ready to join the kids on board. Rosa looked a bit sick as she was getting ready to head over to the other ship. She held her flashlight with white knuckles.

The Captain joined the search party with Master Maes, "Okay, be careful everyone." He said opening up the airlock. "If you find someone alert medical and they will send a team to bring the wounded over here. "Hanes, you, Sol and Astra head to engineering." He motioned to the rest, "search the crew quarters." He motioned them to follow him as he walked across the bridge between the two ships.

Astra smiled at Rosa. " breath Roza everything will be ok you got this" Astra said her he friend she had notisy show Roza looked sick.

As the capten got there attention and they were told to head to engineering Astra became anxious for Roza would she be ok? She took a deep breath and smiled at her friend again." Eveything will be fine Roza we have to help the people who are onboard." She said. Then follow Sol and Hanes to Engineering.

She looked around carefully as they moved through the ship. " You think Roza will be ok she looked sick befor we left her" Astra said quietly.

As they moved down the corridor, the lack of power made things hard to see. Luckily the had large emergency flashlights. Sol started to speak but Hanes hushed him, "smell that," he said coldly. "what is that strange odor," he added.

Sol shook his head, "I don't know. It doesn't smell like blaster fire."

They reached the first major junction to find someone laying on the deck. The robes and size indicated a Jedi Cadet. The young man's lightsaber laying on the deck just a few feet away. The Cadet laid in a large pool of his own blood. His body covered in small holes.

Hase grabbed his comlink, "we have a kid down here. Dead, shot with slugthrowers."

The captain replied, "okay, everyone be careful. It looks like the ship was hit by pirates."

As other reports came in of similar findings. Bodies all over the ship, shot dead by slugthrowers.

Sol walked up to Astra and put an arm around her, "are you okay?"

Astra blinked " that is a strange smell" Astra said as they contued theow the walk way. Astra put her hand to her mouth at the sight of caded on the ground. For a moment she thought she was going to be sick..

Astra just stared. It took everything she had not to burst into tears. " We are to late" she said quietly. No amount of training or classes could have prepared her for this.

Down an adjoining corridor, Astra noticed a dead teenager whom she had just watched on stage a few days ago.

The teenager had won first place in her solo singing event at the Gladius. She wasn't even sensitive to the Force. But she still strived to be the very best for her family.

Now, Astra saw this teenager laying dead with holes in her back. Her arm reached out as if trying to crawl away from her attack.

That was when Astra noticed something on the wrist of the dead girl. A gem crested bracelet in plan view.

"Captain," Hanes said in to his comlink, "I got six dead down here and we haven't even reached Engineering yet. These pirates left no one alive."

Astra blinks " I don't think it was prierts" she said pointing out the girl. " of parents had done this then they would have taken her braslet. " Astra said shaking her head.

She looked to Sol and Hanes. " do you think whoever did this is still onbored" she asked. Anxiety and panic starting to rise in her. Roza the captain and the others could be in danger or walking into a trap. She steped back to be next to Sol and grabbed his wrist tightly as of she were afraid he would disappear.

At Astra's statement, the tension suddenly rose as the two joined Astra over the body of the teenager.

"She just turned fourteen," Sol said. His voice dripped with remorse. "She had a crush on my roommate."

"Okay," Hanse said coldly. "I am taking you two back to the ship. Its too dangerous for children."

Hanes shook his head, "I don't know." He motioned down the corridor, "come on, lets go."

Before a step could be taken, the corridor filled with a blood curdling screen from Roza.

Even before anyone could reach, Sol took off in the direction of the scream.

"Stop, you fool," Hanes yelled as he ran after the teenager.

Astra was right be hide Sol. Her hart rased and she know that scream. "Pleas be ok" Astra though as she ran after Sol.

If anyone hurt Roza she would. Well, she did not know what she would do but she would make them play. " Roza" Astra called as they got close.

Hanes ran up and passed Astra as he was yelling something in to his comlink. Hanes did his best to catch up to Sol, but the teenager was simply too fast.

Beyond him, Sol was in a dead sprint for the source of the sound.

As the trio turned the final corner, they saw a gruesome sight. The crewman had been positioned in such a way that his back was bent around the sharp corner of a door way.

A large human stood in the corridor with his one arm stretched out to the right. For a moment, it wasn't clear what was in his hand. Then the realization hit.

His hand was gripped around the back side of Vin Glasiso, a Orhan like Astra. What was left of his face was being smeared across the wall as this monster approached Roza.

The other half of his body had suffered massive damage, as if caught in the middle of an explosion.

Sol screamed at the back of the man's head as he leaped to the attack.

Hanes yelled something but it was too late to stop Sol.

Sol spun in the air with grace and precision. The man spun to face the attack and that was when Astra saw his face. Twisted and burned. But those glowing red eyes deep in his skull grabbed her fears and chilled her blood. (Will power check. straight D20 roll, no modifiers).

Sol's hit landed true and should have removed the man's arm at the shoulder.

Instead Sol's lightsaber crackled, flashed and went out!

Astra froze eyes wide as she rounded the corner. Move, scream, do sumthing she thought. Her body refused to do as she wanted.

"Sol get away from him" Astra cryed as Sol's lightsaber want out. She just stared unable to thing move or call apon the force for help or information. Without much other option she screamed. Here fear taking hols. A complete new think rot

Roza caught Astra's eyes. Her mind was as frozen with fear as Astra's was. Tears streamed from her eyes. Across her face and clothes was the splattering of someone else's blood. Roza opened her mouth to speak but only sobbing came out as fear held its grip on her tightly.

Sol was just as wide eye as Astra was. He took a step back but that was too little, too late. The monster grabbed Sol by the throat and lifted him up with his one arm. Whipping the teen around before slamming the teen in to the bulkhead wall.

Hanes opened fire with his blaster. Astra saw the blast hit the man hard and burn away flesh. But just under the skin, Astra saw the glowing red of what could only be dense armor.

The man turned and flung Sol at Hanes with all his might.

"Look out," Hanes yelled diving clear of the attack.

Astra wasn't so lucky as Sol slammed in to her with great force. Astra could hear her own bones cracking and breaking under the violent impact.

Laying in a twisted mess, the last thing Astra saw was multiple fire on the monster as the ship's crew came to the rescue.

As her mind slipped in to the darkness, she heard the captain cry out that they had to get off this ship.

As if waking from a bad dream, Astra felt herself floating. Something covering her face and a wave of new feelings washed over her as she realized she was floating in a tank of liquid.

Beyond her little liquid world, she saw two figures. One was a hooded man, who spoke, "she will live," he said calmly.

The other sounded like a Droid, but dressed in full Jedi body armor, to include a full helmet. "That's not the point, she could've died," the figure said walking up to the glass of the tank.

"You cannot be here. If you are found, there will be nothing I can do to protect you," the hooded man stated.

"She needs to come home," the armored figure retorted. The figure put a hand on the glass just in front of Astra. Its clear they assumed Astra was still sleeping.

He walked forward and rested a hand on the figures shoulder, "and we both know she would be dead within a week." He pulled the figure from the tank and in to the obscurity of distance. "You cannot protect her, no matter how hard you try. But I can, and I have proven already."

The figure nodded, "not yet, I can't."

"Besides, we were lucky the captain knew what he was facing. All the children were saved, but one. And one crewman was killed."

The figure nodded, "and the fool blew up the ship and our only hard proof these monsters are real." There was anger in the tone of the figure. "They were only children," the figure added. Then the figure turned, "and what is the official story this time."

"Power failure or something like that," then he turned to the figure. "Now go, she is in good hands. Please, you must go before you are discovered."

The figure nodded and vanished out the door.

Astra blinked as the scean unfolded almost like a dream befor she reached out and touched the glass. " where are Roza and Sol? Who are you? Protect me from what?" She tried to say. She kicked her feet and actually tried to hit the glass infront of her as the hooded man left.

" let me out let me out!" She thought almost panicked. She had to fine Sol Roza and the answers to her questions. She shook her head bringing her hand up to her face. " please someone answer me" she whimpered.
