That can wait though if you have other things you must do. From what you say, you have begun by recognizing the act of using the force to take a life as a dark one. At times one can do the wrong thing for the right reasons. Taking a life is at times something that is needed, but one should never use the force to do it. The force flows through life and with it it carries a consciousness all its own taking life taints that with darkness as well as those that manipulate it to do so. It is hard to say what should have been done. What the step you took toward the dark side was that you used the force to exert your will over the will of another. While killing the men was in self defense, that does not change the fact that the force was used to usurp the will of another in a manner that brought them to harm. It is for that that you attone, the circumstances do not matter, for if you seek hard enough you will find a reason that a dark act is fine, should be allowed. Do you understand?"
