Playing with Fire (Jackson & Rebecca In-Between)

Rebecca looked at Jackson with a disappointing look. It appeared that he was too busy smelling the flowers than actually paying attention. She thought about unleashing her fire strike in his direction to get his attention but realized that was suggestion of the voices in her head. ‘Or was it’ she thought trying to keep her mind focused.

‘No, it’s not a voice in your mind. You should really show him up close and personally what fire is all about’ Rebecca thought.

Rebecca smiled, “fire can be a great teacher” as she rubbed her hand together and giggled. She could almost see Ole Stinky dancing around on fire in her mind.

‘Yes…….yes…….fire……he burns so nicely……..’ Rebecca thought evilly as she envisioned watching him burn under her fire.

“NO…..” Rebecca said defiantly as she realized the effects of the Paradox was playing tricks on her mind. “I am still under the effects of the Paradox I created” she assured herself. It was a first for her to deal with such a severe derangement from creating Paradox. Prior to today, Rebecca's past derangements were minor and easy to deal with. However today, the focus of her mind needed to maintain control almost prevented her from casting spells.

'Look at him over there' her mind called out speaking of Jackson. 'Someone needs to teach him a lesson!'

Rebecca shook as she thought of how easy it would be to just 'scare him'. She didn't even realize that she had moved her hand in anticipation of casting her spell. "NO!" Rebecca said under her breath as she willed her hands to stop.

Rebecca, turned to walk away and saw Kira walking away. “Kira” Rebecca called out and rushed over toward her friend. Rebecca shook as she slowed to walk while she neared Kira. "Kira, I think I went too far today." Her body glowed with those green runes glowed across Rebecca's exposed flesh.

"No, I think I need to teach that stinky boy a lesson in paying attention" Rebecca said in a hollow voice as she glanced over at Jackson while he continued to smell the roses.

Rebecca shook her head and cleared the thought from her mind, "Listen, the derangement caused by Paradox will increase as your mastery with a particular Arcana increases." She pulled her arms around her tightly. She wasn't cold but the way she shook, one might come to that conclusion. Instead, Rebecca was worried what her hands would do on their own if left to their own devices. "I really think I went too far today."

"I really think that you under estimate what I am capable of" Rebecca added in her hollow voice.

Once more she shook her head clearing the thoughts invading her mind. "Please Kira, distract me."
