When Rebecca had neglected to wake Richard up for their morning run he hadn't really thought much of it. Everyone needs a day off from time to time, but seeing her now he realized it wasn't quite as simple as that. Rebecca usually woke up near the same time as Simon. she has always been dressed and ready to go by the time she woke him up in the morning, but now she was walking around the house still wearing her sleeping clothes, something Richard had never seen her do before. Even before she spoke to him he knew there was an issue and hearing her voice only confirmed that wasn't good. Something was off.

He had come down here to speak with her for a reason, he needed to know more about her abilities, but it dawned on him that a good leader was capable of more than just leading his team in combat. He needed to know what was going on, needed to know if her distress would be a hindrance to cabal, he also needed to know if he could help. He wanted to cast a spell, to probe her mind and to see for himself what was wrong. He did not. He knew that doing so would only make matters worse. He would have to speak with her, use dialogue to understand the situation, it was such a waste of time. Words were just so unrefined he was able to communicate in ways so much more efficient than speaking yet doing so would surely cause a fight. Richard cleared his throat, "are you alright?" he asked pouring in as much empathy as he could muster.
