Richard walked through the woods without a hint that he enjoyed himself. The simple fact remained that he hated it out here. The animals and the trees, the bugs, the dirt. He wanted to be back in the city, any city.

He walked for longer than he would have liked and he still wasn't where Rebecca had told him to meet her. He kept going. At least he had decided to put on his running clothes. A suit would have made this even worse. Then he saw it, the red scarf tied to a tree. He untied it from around the tree and used it instead as a headband. He look closer with his mind sight and saw what had to be Rebecca. Suddenly, there was a scream and the mind dropped toward the ground. He sent his vision skyward to see from above while also preparing to defend himself where he was.

He could see her doubled over in pain before she stood back up and started doing some ridiculous karate yoga thing. She was also glowing. What the hell had she been down now, he thought. He watched her from above for a moment but she continued on. He started down the trail again until he found her in a clearing. He could see the marks for clearly now, she had been invoking paradox. He figured she had been doing it on purpose.

"You look like one scary bitch with those markings, I think we might need to get you some tattoos."
