Yesterday's game was such a blast for me. Aside from the medical appointment that caused me to be late (that appointment was scheduled a week and half ago lol), I think we had a great time.

So what I wanted to know is this. If we move the game to a Friday, would that make it easier on everyone and allow for us to actually set up a earlier game time? I know for me personally, it would take a bit of stress off getting from work, and rushing home. I want to hear from everyone about this.

Also, I want to give a shout out to Liz for her idea of Breakfast/Diner Game Meal. The pancakes were great! And thank you Rebeca for the French Toast.

Our Summer Game Event (July 6th Or 7th depending on change of schedule), is quickly approaching. I am looking forward to this game event because we will be catered by a local BBQ place called Bob's BBQ. The family already checked the quality of the food out and found it to be much better than Sonny's BBQ. Due to cost, I would like to ask for a bit of help in this game event. I am going to offer two suggestions in terms of this help. I can have each of you bring a side dish or drinks (sign up for them) for the meal while I take care of the meat/main dish. Or I can ask each of you to chip in ten dollars and I will cover the entire thing. This completely optional and regardless of group choice, if you can't render either option I will not hold it against you.

I am going to make a general house rule for Critical Hits. In respect to last night and how the battle raged, I am going to say that ALL Critical Hits that are confirmed, will do only double damage. Calculate your damage as normal and double it. This will be applied directly to the victim's (Duncan's) Vitality.

Dark Side Points
After deeper consideration in regards to Ni's Affect Mind against the Wookiee, I have ruled to award Ni with a Dark Side Point. While each character should be granted a warning that actions have consequences, I had to look at this action with much more detailed lenses. Ni is a character who has not only thrown Jedi Tradition to the wind, and all but ignored their teachings she has also lived (per the Character's own concept) a life of carelessness and recklessness. I do not find it plausible that Ni would have changed her action had she remembered (an out of character warning regarding the action) that such actions were viewed unfavorably by the Jedi (which meant that it would have been considered a dark act).

That said, I will give Ni this opportunity. If truthfully, Ni would have changed her action, (given an out of character warning) had she remembered that the Jedi would have viewed this act unfavorably I will reascend this dark side point. This will be considered her only warning regarding these situations.

If for some reason, I do not sound clear in my last two paragraphs. Please say something and I will attempt to clear up my position. What I am seeking is, the nature of the character in relation to the action and her views on the warnings she as a character would have had during training. This is not the end of the world and I foresee this opening up a door for character growth between Ni and Gadeon. The same door that was opened up between Unna and Gadeon back on Fray. I am reluctant to usurp this possible growth/story line for Ni.

This is the rule I am calling upon for my ruling here. Please refer to the rule on page 181 in the Core Rule Book.
Common Transgression - Using the Force to Cause Harm: Many uses of the Force are not overtly of the Dark Side, but they can be harmful or even fatal in their applications. When a Force skill that isn't specifically of the Dark Side is used to harm a living being, the CM should seriously consider giving the Character a Dark Side Point.

I encourage each and every player to under this, the New Horizon game is a universe where the Players are the Heroes of Light in a universe slowly being consumed by darkness. I am harder on players in terms of Dark Side points, but not unforgiving. I look at Dark Side points as an opportunity for character growth as they combat the forces of darkness.

This topic is open to discussion within this thread. The only thing I ask, is that everyone respect the choice that Ni makes in regard to her own Dark Side Point.

After last night's conversation regarding the YouTube Channel, I have decided to drop the idea. I do not want you, my players to feel uncomfortable at the game or to ask that you guys put more work in to the game. I respect the opinions brought to the table and am grateful for such a group of players.

I look forward to hearing back from everyone, and thanks for a great game!

Oh no Ni is very deserving of the point.
Congratulations to Ni! I think she was welcoming the point, or at lease has accepted that it is within Ni's nature to do things that will gradually darken her soul! If she changes her mind, she can always spend the force point! I know I didn't mind Unna having it for a while, so I held onto it for several months before purging the darknes.

Gar

I don't expect it to be my last. Lol
Other than this coming up Friday, I don't have a problem with doing it on Friday.

As for the BBQ, I would like to volunteer to bring desert.
Next game game I should bake cookies lol so I can say look we having cookies in game
Gadeon plans to get to the bottom of this cookie thing IC, and same here I would prefer Fridays, but this Friday I will be out of town at a wedding.
Hey guys, please remember to RSVP for the game on Meet-Up.

This not only helps our game out, but helps the Meet-Up. And don't be afraid to start a Meet Up, I know Jess has been trying to plan a Geeky Girls Day Out for a while.
